Biographical Note

MSc in Conservation Biology (2011) from the University of Lisbon and BSc Biology (2002) from the University of Glamorgan (U.K.). Throughout the years, Isa Aleixo Pais participated in different projects of population genetics, species conservation and monitoring of terrestrial and marine ecosystems. From 2010 until 2017, she was a researcher at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) managing the lab of the group Population and Conservation Genetics. In 2015, she integrated a research team for three weeks, as a volunteer, aiming to collect samples of threatened primates from Guinea Bissau. Further, she developed science education activities such as "Lab in a Box", a project developed by a team of volunteers at IGC in collaboration with the Ministry of Education from Cape Verde, the UNESCO National Cape Verde commission and Instituto Camões.
